NEW EDINBURG – The New Edinburg Community Center will be hosting a gospel singing on Saturday, Aug. 11. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with music starting shortly thereafter.
“The featured group will be the Sonliners. The center booked them months in advance due to their busy schedule,” said Melody Spears with the New Edinburg Community Center. “If you have not had the chance to see them perform, do not miss this opportunity to hear them sing.”
There is no charge for this event but Spears encouraged visitors to bring a non-perishable food item. She said the Center is starting a food bank so that when commodities are given out the Center can also give food away. “It will take us several months to build our food bank up,” Spears said.
Anyone wishing to donate for this project can drop their food items off at the New Edinburg Post Office aor contact Melody Spears at (870) 510-6388.
“Concessions will be sold the night of the gospel singing so come out and support the Center and have a good time,” Spears said.
For those who have been inquiring about renting the Center for a reunion or other special event, Spears said there are dates still available dates in August and September.
