DONALDSON – Woodlawn used nine three pointers to break a two-game losing skid as the Lady Bears ended the Herb Russell Holiday Hoops Classic with a 66-37 drubbing of the Magnet Cove Lady Panthers Saturday at Ouachita High School.
After essentially going through the motions in their first two games at the three-day tournament, Woodlawn Coach Logan Adair said Kaylee Hinson seemed to bring the Lady Bears out of their slumber by scoring 18 points.
Woodlawn led 18-11 at the end of the first quarter but began to dominate the game in the second, outscoring Magnet Cove 24-7 to take a commanding 42-18 into halftime. The Lady Bears continued to dominate in the third quarter, extending their lead to 64-27 by the start of the fourth.
Hinson got much of her production at the free throw line, hitting 9-of-10 at the charity strip. She was followed by Madison Barringer with 13.
Woodlawn improved to 6-5 overall with the win.
Haskell HG 55, Woodlawn 32
Haskell Harmony Grove dominated the fourth quarter as the Lady Hornets pulled away late for a 55-32 victory over the Woodlawn Lady Bears in the second round of the Herb Russell Holiday Hoops Classic at Ouachita High School.
