November 7, 2007

Zach Edwards, the 10 year old son of Kathy and Jason Phillips and Rick and Heather Edwards,
killed a 7 point. He is a 4th grader at Rison.

Timber Johnson, 10, of the “Y” community, killed his first five-point buck on the opening day of the Youth Hunt on Nov. 3.
He was hunting with hsi stepdad, Richard Meeks. Timber was using his 20-guage shotgun and only fired one shot. Timber,
a fourth grader at Sheridan Intermediate School, is the son of Rhonda and Richard Meeks,
and grandson of Eathel Meeks of the “Y” community, and Michael and Beverly Johnson of Malvern.

Tanner Williams, 10, of Pearcy, killed this deer on his grandfather’s farm during the youth hunt held Saturday.
Tanner is the son of Keith and Renee Williams, and the grandson of Lynn and Irene Wooley of Woodlawn, and Brenda Williams of Cleverson.
His great-grandmother is Patsy Wilson of Woodlawn.

Sydney Gavin of Pansy killed this eight-point buck while hunting with her dad, Mack, during the recent youth hunt.
Sydney is a fifth grade student at Woodlawn Elementary.

The Promised Land Hunting Club held its Third Annual Youth Hunt on Saturday, Nov. 3.
This years Big Buck Trophy was awarded to Colton Lightsey of Rison for a nice eigh-point buck. Along with Colton’s deer,
four spikes were harvested. After the trophy presentation all participants along with their fathers, were treated to lunch.

Preston Herbert, the 5 year old son of Tracy and Dusty Herbert, killed his first deer in the 2007 youth hunt.
He is a kindergarten student at Rison.

Kaylie Doss, 6, the daughter of Wayne and Jenny Gross of Rison, and Kevin and Brandy Doss of Woodlawn,
bagged this eight-pointer while hunting Saturday afternoon with her Poppy, Phil Green of Rison.

Kasie Ashcraft, 13, of Woodlawn, killed this eight-point buck while hunting with her father, Steve Ashcraft,
on the opening morning of the Youth Hunt this past Saturday. The are members of the Wilson Norton Hunting Club.

Justin Hargrave of Woodlawn, the son of Sam and Melissa Hargrave, killed this six-point buck on the
 opening morning of the Youth Hunt while hunting with his Uncle Johnny Bradley of Warren.

Jalen Young, 13, of New Edinburg, killed his first deer while hunting in the Youth Hunt on Nov. 3 near Fordyce.
He used a 300-mag rifle to bag the button buck.

Haley Phillips, the 14 year old daughter of Jim and Cathy Phillips, killed an 8 point with a 15 inch spread.
She is a straight-A honor roll student at Rison High School.  She hunts with her dad at the Toledo Hunting Club.

Grant King got his first deer, a doe, Saturday morning during the youth hunt. He was hunting at the King Deer Camp
 with his dad. Grant is the seven-year-old son of Davy and Kim Kaye King of the Herbine community. He is in the second grade at Rison Elementary.

Eli Herrington, the 4 year old son of Joe & Laura Herrington killed his first deer with this dad.

Kolton Hooks, the 11-year-old son of Keith and Kim Hooks of the “Y” community, bagged this eight-pointer
during the Youth Hunt on Saturday, Nov. 3.

Cassi Patrick, 14, killed this eight-point buck while hunting with her dad in Glendale on Saturday, Nov 3. She is the daughter
of Tracy and Jennifer Patrick. She also hunts with the Patrick-Roberts Hunting Club at Rowell. She is the grandaughter
of James and Shirley Patrick of Rowell, and Bill Tom Searcy of Glendale.


Drake Palazzi killed this 11-point buck during the youth hunt while hunting with his uncle, Billy King. Drake is a sixth grader at
Rison Elementary, and is the son of Mark and Angie Palazzi.

Hank Edwards killed this seven-point buck while hunting with his pawpaw Buddy Coleman during the youth hunt this past
Sunday at the 212 Hunting Club in northern Cleveland County.

Reginald Wofford, Sr. of New Edinburg killed this nice nine-pointer buck with his muzzleloader on Oct. 15 near New Edinburg.

Reginald Wofford, Jr., 10, of New Edinburg, killed his first deer, a spike, during the Youth Hunt on Nov. 3. He was hunting
with a 410 shotgun. He is the son of Reginald and Cheryle Wofford of New Edinburg.

Walt Freeman, 7, of Rison, bagged this spike while hunting Monday morning in Calhoun County. Walt made the kill with a .223 rifle.
He is the son of Murry and Charlene Freeman of Rison.

Corbin Hampton, 11, killed this three-point buck with one shot from his 243 rifle. He was hunting near Kingsland with his mom, Barbie Trammell, his brother Mason Hampton, and his grandpa Rex Trammell, all of Kingsland.

Jonathan Martin (left) and his dad Rickey Spencer (right) bagged an eight-point and seven-point buck during the
opening morning of the modern gun season Saturday. Martin’s eight pint had a 12-1/2 inch spread while Spencer’s seven point had
a 17-1/2 inch spread. Both deer were killed at the Hogan Hunting Club near Kingsland.

Linzee Davis, 10, of Rison, killed this nice eight-point buck while hunting with her dad, Steve Davis,
on the opening day of modern gun season on Nov. 10.

Colton Lightsey shows off the rack from his winning buck in the Big Buck Contest held at the Promised Land Hunting Club
during the Youth Hunt on Nov. 3. The buck had a 14-1/2 inch spread and he made the kill while hunting with his dad.

Lacey Thompson, the 10-year-old daughter of Mickey and Jessica Thompson of Calmer,
killed his eight-point buck during the Youth Hunt on Nov. 3 near Star City.

Jacob Jacks, the 9-year-old son of Greg and Christie Jacks of Rowell, killed this larger seven-point buck during the recent Youth Hunt.
The 170-pound deer had a 15-1/2 inch spread. Jacob is the grandson of Danny and Marcell Jacks,
and the great grandson of R.L. and Betty Jacks, all of Rowell.

Hayden Arnold of “Y” community killed this nice 10-point buck the opening morning of the modern gun on Saturday, Nov. 10.
Hayden is the son of Jeff and Donna Arnold of the “Y” community, and is a third grader at Rison Elementary.

Shelby Gatlin of Rison bagged this spike the very first time she had ever gone hunting. She was hunting with a .308 at
Roark Landing Hunting Club in Calhoun County with her Uncle Brian. Shelby is the 9-year-old daughter of Mike and Laura Gatlin of Rison.
Her mom said she is “hooked for life I can assure you!”

Mason Hampton, 11, killed this doe with one shot from his 30-06 rifle. He was hunting near Kingsland with his brother,
Corbin Hampton, his mother , Barbie Trammell and his grandpa, Rex Trammell, all of Kingsland.

Caleb George bagged this first deer, a spike, while hunting with dad at 9:40 a.m. Nov. 3 at the Promised Land Hunting Club.
Caleb is the 6-year-old son of Travis and Rhonda George.

November 20, 2007

Taylor Dennis of Rowell killed her very first deer on her first hunting trip on the evening of the Youth Hunt.
She used a .410 shotgun. Taylor is the 8-year-old daughter of John and Robin Dennis, and the
granddaughter of Robert and Debbie Murders, all of Rowell. Taylor said the next one she kills will be a monster.

Austin Slater, 10 year-old-son of Kelly and Denise Slater of Woodlawn,
shot this nice eight-point buck Nov. 17 at the Woodlawn Deer Camp.

Shelby Montgomery, 12, of Rowell, took her first deer on the opening day of the modern gun season,
Nov. 10, which also happened to be her birthday. She was hunting with her dad in the Brandon
community near Monticello. Shelby is the daughter of Don and Alisa Montgomery.

Peyton Sandine, 7, of Rowell, killed this nice six-point buck the opening weekend of the Youth Hunt.
Peyton is the daughter of Chris and Julie Sandine of Rowell.

Nick Wilson, 13, of Woodlawn, bagged this eight-point buck this past Saturday while
hunting in Cleveland County. He is the son of David and Vickie Wilson of Woodlawn.

Nicole McDonald, 15, a sophomore at Star City High School, surprised this nice buck Sunday afternoon in Lincoln County.
Nicole is the daughter of Kenneth and Becky McDonald, and the granddaughter of Johnnie and
Barbara Poss of Rison, and James and Alenda McDonald of Pine Bluff.

Nelson Davis, 8, of Rye killed this seven-point last Thursday evening while hunting with his
mom, Sandy Herman. Nelson made the kill with a .223 rifle. He is the son of Chad and Sandy Herman of Rye, and David Davis
of Star City. Nelson is the grandson of Lee Nelson of Rye, David and Roma Davis of Star City, Billy and Shirley
White of Rowell, and Debbie and Pete Reed of Rowell. Nelson is a third grader at Woodlawn Elementary.

Jaxson Anderson, 5, of the “Y” community, poses with the seven-point he managed to bag during the
Youth Hunt the first weekend of November. Jaxson is the son of Chad and Leslie Cope of the “Y” community.

Hunter Garrett Woolems, 5, was hunting with his dad Cody during the youth hunt
on Nov. 3 and shot his first deer, an eight-point buck!!

Keifer Hooks, the 13-year-old son of Keith and Kim Hooks of the “Y” community,
killed this six-point buck the opening morning of the modern gun season on Nov. 10.

Brandon Kyle Ashcraft, 10, killed his first deer, a three-point buck, on Nov. 12 at the
Wilson Deer Camp off Hwy. 114. Brandon is the son of Scott and India Ashcraft.
