Historical Society Seeks Donations For Johnny Cash Display

RISON - The Cleveland County Historical Society (CCHS) is currently in the process of bringing the suit that Johnny Cash wore during his 1976 Bicentennial concert at the Rison High School football field back to the Cleveland County Courthouse for permanent display.Johnny Cash designed the suit himself and only wore it during the Rison concert. A heavy duty plexiglass display case is being built to house the suit that is currently on loan to display at the Dyess Cultural Center. The display case is expected to be completed by mid-September.The CCHS is accepting donations to help pay for building the display case. Donations are payable to the Cleveland County Historical Society, P.O. Box 192, Rison, AR 71665. The CCHS is a 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax-deductible.
