Hunter To Speak Monday at Master Gardeners Meeting

RISON - The Cleveland County Master Gardeners have announced guests for their February and March meetings.Ms. Shawn Hunter will speak at the meeting Monday, Feb. 3 at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds.Douglas Stanton will speak at the following month’s meeting, Monday, March 3 at the Fairgrounds.Both meetings begin at 6 p.m.  A meal will be served at each meeting for enjoyment during the presentations.Hunter is a member of NWA chapter of Master Naturalists, Wild Ones Ozark Chapter and the National Association of Interpretation. A graduate of John Brown University and United States Navy Veteran, Hunter founded and operated Inuendos Design Company in Siloam Springs, Arkansas from 2002 until her retirement in 2022. Retirement has been used to re-learn the art of watercolor, urban sketching and photography while hiking and traveling with her partner Jim. In her capacities as veteran and small business owner she gained useful project management and marketing skills she now uses to support conservation efforts. As cofounder and project lead for The Diana Project her current focus is to educate the public about the unique needs of Arkansas's threatened State Butterfly, The Diana Fritillary (Argynnis Diana), and how they can help.Stanton is certified with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is a registered architect in California and Arkansas. Douglas studied architecture at Texas A&M, Harvard, and Princeton Universities, receiving his Master of Architecture degree from Princeton in 1987. He has taught architecture studio and lecture courses at the University of Arkansas and the University of Texas at Arlington. Licensed since 1992, Douglas’ projects have included residential, commercial, and landscape design projects in Texas, throughout Southern California, and more recently in Arkansas....
