RISON - The Cleveland County Extension Homemakers will host a Mental Health Awareness Walk Friday, May 24. Mental Health Awareness Day was officially May 5 in Cleveland County. The walk will be around the courthouse in support of mental health. Physical activity has a huge potential to enhance our well-being. Even a short burst of 10 minutes of brisk walking increases our mental alertness, energy and positive mood. Participation in regular physical activity can increase our self-esteem and can reduce stress and anxiety.Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 10 a.m. If you would like to pre-register for the walk, please email dwatson@uada.edu or call the county Extension office at 870325-6321 to sign up.
