RISON - Organizers of the new Food Truck Fridays beginning June 21 at the Pioneer Village in Rison have announced that free vendor space will be available for those wanting to sell produce, cottage foods or just about anything else during the event.Last week, the Pioneer Village and Rison Shine announced they are partnering to launch a series of Food Truck Fridays throughout the summer at the Pioneer Village, located at 200 Yaney Street in Rison.In essence, organizers said the new market will essentially replace the Rison Farmers Market that was held Thursday evenings during the summer months in FBT Community Park in downtown Rison. While the Rison Farmers Market was primarily for those selling produce and cottage foods, the Food Truck Friday market will also be open to those selling other products as well. All vendors will be set up outside, and will need to bring their own table, chairs and canopy, if desired. For planning purposes, anyone interested in being a vendor for the June 21 event is encouraged to send an email to risonshines@gmail.com listing their name, contact phone number and description of what they will be offering. (Please note the "s" behind Rison Shine in the email address) The first Food Truck Friday will launch Friday, June 21, with subsequent events set for the third Friday each month through September.Food trucks, still to be determined for June, are expected to be available from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Pioneer Village.The inaugural Food Truck Friday also feature live entertainment from musical duo Brian and Laura from 5 to 7 p.m. bringing together the best of country and classic rock.
