Some Voters in County Will See New Polling Sites for Presidential Election
RISON - Some voters in Cleveland County will be heading to new polling locations this Tuesday to cast their votes in the 2024 general election.Polls for the 2024 general election to decide U.S. president and other races will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5.Meanwhile, early voting at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building at 404 Sycamore Street in Rison will continue through Monday, Nov. 4. The polls are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays through Friday, Nov. 1; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2; and from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4.John Appleget, chair of the Cleveland County Election Commission, said the Whiteville and Bowman townships have been consolidated into a single new voting location this year while the polling site for Harper township has been moved to a new location.Voters in the Whiteville and Bowman townships will now be voting at Pleasant Ridge Missisionary Baptist Church located at 3833 Rodgers Road about a quarter-mile west of Hwy. 63. Previously, Whiteville was voting at Woodlawn Fire Station No. 2 while Bowman was voting at the Hwy. 133 Fire Station.Meanwhile, voters in the Harper township will be voting at Bethel No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church located at 14570 Hwy 35 South in the Herbine community. Previously, the Harper township was voting at Living Grace Church on Hwy. 63 south of Pansy.
