Seark Concert Association To Host ‘Annie Jr.’ Musical March 4-8

MONTICELLO - Leaping Lizards! Southeast Arkansas will “stick up its chin and grin and sing ‘Tomorrow! Tomorrow!’” when SEARK Concert Association performs Annie JR. Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning best musical by Tony Award-winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie JR. tells the story of a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents.Local SE Arkansas talent will present Annie JR. on premiere night/fundraiser for the UAM Fine Arts Center on March 4 with a reception at the Chancellor’s home at 6 p.m. and show to follow at 7 p.m. at the University of Arkansas Fine Arts Center at 371 University Drive in Monticello, AR. Tickets for the premiere night are $100 and proceeds are used to improve the Fine Arts Center. Other shows include March 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. and March 8 at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7 p.m. Ticket prices are as follows: Adults $30, Military $25, Child (12 & under) and can be purchased by our website www.searkconcert.org or by calling 870-460-1888.Annie JR. follows the story of an orphan named Annie living a “hard-knock life” at The New York City Municipal Orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan.
