RISON - The Cleveland County Veterans Association will host its annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner Saturday, Oct. 26, organizers John Blanchard, Roger McClellan and Randy Morgan have announced.The dinner will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the exhibit hall at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Rison.Dorey's Catfish & Chicken will cater the dinner with a fish and chicken buffet. All veterans and one guest eat free at the dinner as a show of appreciation for their service to our country. Others attending the dinner can buy plates for $15 each with proceeds helping support the meals for the veterans. Plates can be purchased to go, or guests can stay and enjoy the program.The dinner will include a special program featuring Major General (Ret) Kendall Penn as the guest speaker. Penn was appointed as the 2nd Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs in 2023.
