Donations Will Provide School Supplies For All Rison Students

RISON - Freedom Assembly and Rison Shine Community Development, Inc. have announced that school supplies for all students K-12 in Cleveland County School District have been purchased and will be delivered to the school next week."We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support shown by our community for the Freedom Assembly and Rison Shine school supply fundraiser," said Freedom Assembly Pastors Kevin and Amber Hornaday.Rison Shine President Celeste Beatty echoes those sentiments on behalf of the officers and volunteers in the organization, "Without our community coming together, this tremendous gift would not be possible." Rison High School Principal LeTitia Walker and Rison Elementary Principal Angie Hudson have expressed their gratitude and support as well.According to Walker and Hudson, parents just need to send their students to school Wednesday, Aug. 14, with a backpack and all the supplies will be in the classrooms.Walker noted that for high school students, there are some exceptions based on classes. For students in classes that require a Ti-84 calculator, fabric and thread, or a camera scan disk, those items will still need to be purchased by parents. All other items are covered.“We are already working on donations for next year,” said Beatty. “Any donations that come in through Rison Shine's Back to School Bash on August 2 or through donations from the community and churches, are being held for next year's supply drive.”Joining Freedom Assembly and Rison Shine to make this year's contributions possible are: Amy Matthews, Laura Burns, Rison Baptist Church, Rison Church of Christ, Donald Almond, Frankie Harper, The Kloap Family, Dr. Chuck Kauffman, FBT Bank, Erica Koonce Best, Karen Robinson Lindsey, Frelis Schulz, Ms. Kathy, Gateway Bank, John Varnell, Kingsland United Methodist Church, Thomas Mitchell, The Schultz Family, Boni Craven, Dr. Mark and Debi Attwood, Jeff Fry, Pizza Pro of Rison, ...
