Rison Shine's First Back to School Bash Makes A Splash

RISON - Rison Shine Community Development, Inc. hosted its first Back to School Bash last Friday, Aug. 2 with plenty of water activities for kids on the hot day. Pictured above is Keden Shrum with the Rison Fire Department allowing children to spray the hose from the fire truck down Main Street. In the second photo, children enjoy playing on the inflatable water slide set up inside FBT Community Park. The event also featured a dunking booth where students could have a chance at dunking coaches and teachers from Rison Elementary and Rison High School. Rison Shine would like to thank Rison Fire Department, EASI Ambulance Services, the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department, Big Red’s Feed Trough and Cheesecake on Point for taking part in the event. The Back to School Bash also raised funds for Rison Shine and Freedom Assembly’s School Supply Drive to kickstart the goal to provide free school supplies for students again next school year. All supplies for Rison students grades K-12 were provided for the 2024-25 school year....
