RISON - Local florist Malinda Berry is ready to add an expansion to her business, My Berry Patch, at 303 Main Street in Rison."I've been asked by lots of friends and neighbors what the building behind the flower shop is for," she said. "Storage space? New flower shop? Nope! It's a guest house and it's finally done!" Berry said it has been a long process but she's finally ready to welcome guests."My vision for this project was to have an overnight accommodation to offer visitors coming to Rison on business, coming to visit family or friends or to attend a wedding or funeral," she said.Berry said the Guest House is not going to be offered through VRBO or AirBnB, but on a local basis instead.The Guest House has one bedroom, one bath, a fully- functioning kitchen, plus a comfortable living area. Chairs in the living room can be made into beds.Berry plans to show off the accommodations during an informal open house Thursday, Sept. 19 from Noon until 5:30 p.m."Stop by for refreshments and check it out," she invites.Reservations can be made by calling 870-890-4198....
