RISON - Halloween Events are beginning to be announced for Rison.Rison Shine Community Development, Inc. will host Trunk-or-Treat in Downtown Rison on Main Street beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29.The Green House Cottages will hold its October Fest from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. simultaneously. Activities include a hay ride, food, bouncy house, photo booth, cake walk and costume contest.The Rison High School Agriculture Students will also hold “Boo at the Barnyard” in the school parking lot across from the Cottages. Activities include pumpkin bowling, dummy roping, cow milking simulator, germination station (planting seeds), baggo, and a small petting zoo.Kids and families are encouraged to make their way through all events getting candy.“Whether you start downtown with Rison Shine, or start at the Cottages with the residents, or at the school with FFA, we hope you’ll join us for early Halloween fun in Rison,” said Rison Shine President Celeste Beatty.Rison Shine is accepting donations of store-bought, individually-wrapped candies for trunk-or-treat. Donations can be dropped off at the Herald office at 215 Main Street.Rison Shine and the Pioneer Village are also joining forces to host the Rison Haunted Village on select nights in October.
