Veterans Association Accepting Names Of All County Vets For Plaques

RISON - The Cleveland County Veterans Association is accepting new submissions of names of veterans for a new plaque that will be placed at Veterans Park in Rison. While the initial effort was to segregate the names of veterans with ties to Cleveland County by the conflict/era they served in, organizers said the new plaques will include the names of veterans regardless of the time they served, as well regardless of what branch.“We want to honor anyone from Cleveland County that served this country and wore a uniform,” said organizer Randy Morgan. “This includes the U.S. Military, National Guard, Coast Guard, etc.”The cost to include a name on this newest plaque is $10. To submit a name, send a note with the veteran's name and the branch of the armed services they served. Additional information, but not required, would include the era (World War II, Korean War, Vietnam, etc.)/peace time they served. Be sure to include a contact telephone number should there be any questions.Send the name of the person along with a check made payable to the Cleveland County Veterans Association to Randy Morgan, Veterans Plaque, P.O.
