RISON - The Star City Lady Bulldogs, a perenial power among the Class 4A girls basketball ranks, got off to red hot start last Thursday in outscoring the the Rison Lady Wildcts, 18-0, in the first quarter enroute to a 5437 win at the Star City gym.
Star City, opening its 2024-25 season against Rison, extended its lead to 34-11 by halftime. The Lady 'Cats ended up winning the second half, 26-20, by taking the third quarter, 11-7, and the final period, 15-13.
The Lady Wildcats are under the direction of new Head Coach Cicely Greene-Simpson. Rison fell to 0-2 on the season after dropping its season-opener on Nov. 7 at Poyen, 73-39.
