RISON - The Cleveland County Solid Waste Transfer Station on Hwy. 79 at Rison is now open Monday through Friday.
Until further notice, the hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
In addition to accepting household waste, the transfer station can also accept other items as well. The county has several recycling areas set up at the transfer station to accept scrap aluminum, metal, cardboard, shredded paper, newspapers and magazines. There is also an area to accept "e-waste," which is electronic waste that includes televisions, computers, printers, copiers and small appliances like microwaves or blenders.
