RISON - Beginning gardeners are encouraged to attend the "Vegetable Gardening 101" workshop presented by the Cleveland County Cooperative Extension Service from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, 404 Sycamore Street across the courthouse in Rison.
David West, agent for the Cleveland County Extension Office, said there is a $10 fee to attend, and the class size is limited to 30 participants. Call the Extension Office at (870) 325-6321 to register.

John Gavin, the staff chair/ agriculture agent for the Bradley County Extension Office, will be discussing tomatoes and more.
Les Walz with the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture will be discussing common mistakes made by home gardeners.
Britt Talent, organizer of the Arkansas Homesteading Conference, will be discussing raised bed growing methods.
