MONTICELLO - Carlese Johnson had two doubles with four RBIs and also pitched a three-hitter as the Rison Lady Wildcats snapped a two-game skid with an 11-2 win over the Drew Central Pirates Tuesday afternoon at Monticello.The 8-3A conference victory moved the Lady 'Cats to 4-1 in league play and 5-5 overall. They are a game behind DeWitt in the conference standings as of Wednesday, April 16.Rison grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Johnson reached on a two-out error and then scored on Rhagen Price's follow-up single.The scored remained that way until the fifth when the Lady Wildcats plated four runs to take control of the game.After a fly out to start the inning, Millie Montgomery was hit by a pitch and Allie Bennett then singled to put runners at first and second. Then with two out, the Lady Pirates misplayed Riley Hyatt's line drive single into center, scoring Montgomery. Johnson then followed with a double to drive in both Benett and Hyatt, and Price then smashed a triple that scored Johnson, making it 5-0.Rison stacked another five runs on top of that in the sixth.Elissa Summar walked to start the frame, and one out later, Montgomery's hit allowed Summar to race home. Bennett then drew a walk and Montgomery scored on a passed ball to make it 8-0.After Layne Potter singled, Hyatt drew a walk and Johnson came up with another two-run double to make it 10-0.The Lady Pirates scored both of their runs in the bottom of the sixth off a walk, single, error and passed ball.Potter had an RBI single to account for Rison's final run in the top of the seventh.Rison finished with 10 hits. Potter, Johnson, Price and Bennett all had two apiece while Hyatt and Montgomery accounted for the others.Johnson scattered three hits and three walks in picking up the pitching victory.
