Lady Bugs Snap Lady Cats' Four-Game Win Streak

RISON - Fordyce quickly built a double-digit lead in the first quarter and never looked back as the Ladybugs snapped the Rison Lady Wildcats' fourgame win streak with a 60-36 victory to open 6-2A conference play Tuesday night at the Rison Gym. The Lady Bugs led by as many as 17 in the first half, but the Lady Wildcats cut it to 11 about midway through the third with a chance to narrow the deficit to single digits but could never could a bucket to fall. Fordyce withstood the challenged and pulled away from there. R'erel Roshell had 15 to lead the Lady Wildcats while Destiny Lea had 10. Rison fell to 4-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play with the loss. Since then, the Lady 'Cats edged Class 5A Mount St. Mary Academy, 50-49, last Thursday before getting past Glen Rose Monday night. All four of those victories were on the road. Rison got off to a nice start against the Lady Beavers, leading 10-3 at the end of the first quarter. Glen Rose cut it to 1511 by the half.
