RISON - Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church will be hosting a "Meet the Coaches" reception beginning at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, in the Family Life Center located at 2230 Hwy. 35 North at Rison. The event is free to everyone and finger foods will be served.Rison High School hired several new coaches over the summer, and this reception will give the public an opportunity to meet them.The new hires include new head football coach Chris Vereen and new assistants Zach Branch and Jammerick Waller; boys basketball coach/assistant football coach Kyle Thaxton, and new girls basketball/ assistant Lee Courtney-Jester.Baseball Coach Chad Cope and softball coach Kristie Saunders are also expected to be on hand.Everyone is invited to attend.
