Letter to Editor: A Call To Cleveland County Neighbors Regarding Damage

Body

Have You Experienced Property Damage from Out-of-State Contractors?

We would like to hear from you. No damage is too small to report ~ every experience is important.

Dear Friends and Neighbors of Cleveland County, One of the things that makes Cleveland County, Arkansas, special is the pride we take in our homes, land, and community. Whether your property has been in your family for generations, is a place you have worked hard to call home, or supports your livelihood through poultry, timber, cattle, or another industry, we all understand the importance of protecting our assets and way of life.

We are asking Cleveland County residents and property owners to help document property damage that has resulted from work/actions performed by out-of-state contractors operating in our county.

Examples include damage to water or sewer lines, driveways, yards, landscaping, fences, timberland, or other private property; litter, discarded machinery parts or unprofessional conduct.

Please submit your account of 2,000 words or less and include the following:

Date and time

Location: Where in Cleveland County did the damage occur?

Nature of the damage: What happened, and what part of your property or utility service was affected?

Contractor information: Do you know the company or contractor involved? Did you speak with an employee? Please describe the interaction, positive or negative aspects.

Documentation: Do you have photographs, videos, repair estimates, invoices, correspondence, or other records?

Resolution: Was the damage repaired? Were you compensated? If not, does the matter remain unresolved?

If you have photographs, videos, or other supporting documentation, all are helpful.

Please email your information and documentation by October 31, 2026, to: Protectccfolks@gmail.com

The purpose of Protect Cleveland County (PCC) is simple: to bring our community together, document these experiences, and better understand the extent of property damage that has occurred.

Appreciation for our local law enforcement and fire and emergency resources continues as they endure increased work loads due to this conduct.

By sharing firsthand experiences and supporting documentation, you can help us compile an accurate record of these concerns.
If you know a neighbor, friend, or family member who may have experienced similar damage, please pass this letter along.
Our community is stronger when we unite. Our land, homes, and property deserve to be treated with care and respect.

Thank you for your time. We look forward to hearing from you.
