WOODLAWN - Woodlawn senior lineman Dakota Campbell received the Brandon Burlsworth Award from Coach Tommy Tice following the Bears’ appearance at the eight-man state championship game last Thursday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. The Brandon Burlsworth Award is given to outstanding players in Arkansas High School Football state championship games, recognizing one player from each team who embodies Burlsworth's work ethic and character. Tice coached Burlsworth at Harrison High School before Burlsworth became a walk-on offensive lineman at the University of Arkansas. He eventually developed in an All-American lineman who was drafted to play professional for the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL. Tragically, Burlsworth died in a car accident before he could begin his professional career. Campbell has been a standout lineman on both offense and defense since his sophomore season....
