Students of the Month: September 2023

  • Trent Southerland, a seventh grader at Rison Middle School, was named September Student of the Month for grades 7-9. Trent is the son of Tony and Marcie Howard, and Beau and Emily Southerland. He is the grandson of Petty and Vickie Taylor and Danny Howard. He has five siblings, Brock, Brady, Lane, Denver and Pennlee. His activities and honors include football, Beta club, basketball, baseball and church.

  • Marlee Johnson, a 12th grader at Rison High School, was named September Student of the Month for grades 10-12. Marlee is the daughter of Steve and Jodie Johnson. She is the granddaughter of Jolynne and the late Eddie Waits, and David and Jeannette Cockrell, and Kathy Johnson and the late B.J. Johnson. She has one sister, Maycee. Her activities and honors include Beta Club, FBLA, FCA, FCCLA and Student Council.
