RISON - The driver of a loaded log truck that was stuck on the railroad tracks at the Harvey Benton Road crossing north of Rison managed to escape serious injuries his truck was hit by a freight train. The Rison Fire Department reported the truck driver was able to escape the vehicle prior to the collision but still sustained minor injuries. The fire department was dispatched to the collision at about 8:50 a.m. Thursday, July 25. Harvey Benton Road is located off Unionville Road about three miles north of Rison. The Rison Fire Department would like to remind drivers that in the event your vehicle becomes disabled on a railroad track, exit your vehicle immediately and call for help after moving a safe distance from the vehicle....
