WOODLAWN - The Be Pro Be Proud skill workforce simulation trailer as at Woodlawn High School on Tuesday. Be Pro Be Proud is an initiative led by the Associated Industries of Arkansas that is spearheading a "movement to bring a new generation of pride, progress, and professionals to Arkansas' skilled workforce."
As the current skilled workforce is at or near retirement age, Be Pro Be Proud hopes to change how young people think about these job opportunities. The trailer offers a variety of simulators related to various positions within the skilled workforce industries.
Be Pro Be Proud offers opportunities for job seekers, skilled professionals, employers, and teachers to be involved through training, workshops and more.
Seven seniors at Woodlawn High School served as "MVPs" Tuesday when the Be Pro Be Proud simulation trailer stopped by Woodlawn School to introduce high school students to possible careers in areas of the skilled workforce. The trailer pictured in the background is filled with simulators giving students an opportunity to see what it would be like to drive a big rig, operate heavy equipment or weld, among many other things. The MVPs served basically as guides for the students visiting the trailer.
The Be Pro Be Proud trailer was scheduled to visit Rison High School on Wednesday, Aug. 23.
