Beth Brumley Main Street El Dorado
RISON - The Kickstart Cleveland County Community Development Initiative has announced the return of it's Celebrate Cleveland County Banquet - its first since 2020.
"This year is extra special as we are celebrating 150 years of Cleveland County! Happy Birthday Cleveland County!," said Kickstart Cleveland County President Stacy Walz.
The banquet will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds and will feature a special presentation from guest speaker Beth Brumley, Executive Director of Main Street El Dorado sponsored by Gateway Bank.
Brumley was named Executive Director of Main Street El Dorado in 2017. A dedicated Main Street volunteer, a talented marketing professional, and a devoted proponent of El Dorado, she found the ideal home for her talents in her position as executive director of Main Street El Dorado.
Bringing together her strong knowledge of the Main Street program and her wealth of professional experience, Brumley has taken the helm at Main Street ready to lead the organization in a new direction.
Brumley, who served on the Main Street board from 2008 until 2012, began working with Main Street as a volunteer. She served as board president in 2012, chairing MusicFest XXV, which featured MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice, and bringing a new perspective to numerous other events.
Steering Main Street El Dorado back to its roots has been part of Brumley’s mission in her position. She has focused her energies on three of the Main Street America program’s fourpoint approach to downtown revitalization: economic vitality, organization, and design, while continuing to promote their annual popular festivals and even introduce some new ones.
Brumley has heard several accolades including: Named Notable Arkansas by At Home Arkansas, 2020 Intriguing Women AY Magazine, three-time Promoter of the Year nominee Arkansas Country Music Awards and Main Street El Dorado has been recognized for many achievements as well.
Bmmley will share creative ideas and revitalization tips for our towns in Cleveland County, while celebrating the recent accomplishments of Rison Shine, Re-New-ing Edinburg, Kick-Start Kingsland, Wake Up Woodlawn, Cleveland County Community Theater, Cleveland County Fair Association and the Pioneer Village.
The action groups under Kickstart Cleveland County will also present Volunteer of the Year Awards sponsored by FBT Bank.
“We encourage everyone in the county to come celebrate where we’ve been in the last 150 years, and where we can go moving forward,” Walz said. “We need more volunteers and ideas to kick start Cleveland County!”
Tickets are $20, which include dinner, and can be purchased at the Cleveland County Herald office now at 215 Main Street. Big Red’s Feed Trough is catering the event.
Kickstart Cleveland County issues a special thank you to the Woodlawn High School EAST Lab students for creating the official invitation graphics and more guests will see at the banquet; and to the Rison High School EAST Lab and FFA students for designing the Volunteer of the Year Awards which will be unveiled at the banquet.
