RISON - Charles Cantwell (right), who can often be seen scooting around Rison on his motorized chair, will be turning 99 years old this Sunday.
He was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Thornton, but has lived in Rison since 1992. He and his wife, Brenda (left), have been married for 32 years.
Mr. Cantwell has four children and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He said he wanted to thank his wife, his friend Roy Phillips of the Toledo community for all the things he has done for him as well as John Blanchard of Rison, who he said always brings him a meal from the Veterans Appreciation Luncheon each year. He said Roy was the first person he met when he came to Rison. "I love them with all my heart and God loves them too," he said.
