RISON - The Cleveland County and Woodlawn School Boards will both have special called meetings at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, according to their respective superintendents.Cleveland County Superintendent Davy King said the purpose of their special meeting is to act on personnel decisions for the 2026-27 school year.Meanwhile, Woodlawn Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hancock set Tuesday’s special meeting during the regular board meeting on April 13. The purpose of this meeting to consider funding options for the proposed career education center. The school board will hear about those options from Jason Holsclaw of Stephens, Inc., the district’s financial adviser, before the special meeting at 7 p.m.Woodlawn has nearly $1.3 million in state partnership money to help pay for the career education center. Rather than rely solely on the 2-mill tax increase approved by voters last year, Hancock said he wanted to consider other funding options since the district has plans for other partnership projects as well....
