County Fair, Rodeo To Begin This Week

RISON - The Cleveland County Fair and Rodeo returns this week after a two-year hiatus. The schedule is as follows for Thursday, Sept. 15 through Saturday, Sept. 17: All fair entries, besides baked goods, will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. Baked goods will be accepted from 8 to 9 a.m. Friday. Senior and Veterans Day will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Free hot dogs and homemade ice cream will be provided. The exhibit hall will be open to the public from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Visitors will have a chance to sign up for giveaways by local businesses as well as a chance to win $100, $50 or $25 cash. Sign-up boxes will be located throughout the exhibit hall. The rodeo, presented by FBT Bank, will begin at 8 p.m. both Friday and Saturday night. Admission is $5. The county fair pageants and talent contest will begin at noon Saturday with Baby Miss, Toddler Miss, Tiny Miss and Talent. Little Miss will be at 1 p.m., Petite Miss at 1:30 p.m., Junior Miss at 2 p.m., Preteen Princess at 2:30 p.m., and Fair Princess and Miss Cleveland County at 3:30 p.m. The pageants and contest will be awarding over $2,000 in cash prizes.
