RISON - The Cleveland County Office of Emergency Management Mass Notification System is now online and ready to be implemented, the office announced Monday The new alert system allows county residents to create a profile on Smart911that will allow them to receive the following alerts and notifications:
• Severe and non-severe weather events
• Emergency alerts
• Road closures
• Community and county events Brooklyn McClellan, coordinator for the Cleveland County OEM office, said for those who already have a Smart911 account can log in and select the Cleveland County list they would like to receive.
The service will alert those who register with the program of alerts and other notifications via text, voice or email messages. To sign up, click on the link on the Cleveland County Office of Emergency Management page on Facebook or go to Smart911 .com. There is also a smartphone app that can be downloaded through either Google Play or the Apple app store.
The program allows people to register for as many alerts and notifications as they like, giving people the option to opt out of certain notification lists.
McClellan said anyone who would like to have other lists added in the future to contact the Cleveland County OEM office.
