LITTLE ROCK - Cleveland County's unemployment rate rose a full percentage point to 4.8 percent in June, according to preliminary data from the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services.According to Workforce Services, the county's jobless rate climbed a full percentage point from 3.8 percent in both April and May to 4.8 percent in June. The unemployment rate for Cleveland County in June 2024 was 4.2 percent.Workforce Services reported 143 of the county's workforce of 2,979 people were without jobs during the month of June.The 4.8 percent unemployment reflects the highest jobless rate since July 2022 when the rate was also at 4.8 percent. It also matches the highest month-to-month increase since it rose by a 1 percent from May to June 2022.On Tuesday, the Arkansas Department of Commerce, in conjunction with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, announced that Arkansas' seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained stable at 3.7 percent in July. The U.S. jobless rate increased one-tenth of a percentage point, from 4.1 percent in June to 4.2 percent in July.Statewide, Benton County had the lowest July jobless rate at 3.3 percent while Desha County had the highest rate at 7.1 percent....
