Early Voting Begins Tuesday For CCSB Zone 3 Election

RISON - Early voting for the contested Zone 3 seat on the Cleveland County School Board between incumbent Kelly Taylor and challenger Steven Saeler, both Kingsland, will begin this Tuesday, May 2, and will continue through Monday, May 8. Meanwhile, Aaron Tooke is running unopposed for another five-year term on the Woodlawn School Board. Early voting for the school election will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m weekdays at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, 404 Sycamore Street across from the courthouse in Rison. Two polling sites will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on election day, Tuesday, May 9: the Veterans Building in Rison and Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church, 200 First Street in Kingsland. This is the only seat on the seven-member Cleveland County School Board that is up for election. The zone includes portions of both the former Kingsland and Rison school districts. Zone 3 includes nearly all of northwestern Cleveland County north of Hwy. 79 that is between Moro Creek on the west and the Saline River on the east. The zone does not include any area within the Kingsland city limits. The zone extends south of Hwy. 79, roughly between Hwy. 189 on the west and the Saline River on the east. It does not include the New Edinburg area. The zone also includes area along both sides of Hwy. 79 south of the Rison city limits.
