Farmers Market Opening Postponed To June 8 in Rison

RISON - Greg Jaggers, the 2023 manager for the Rison Farmers Market, has announced that the opening of the market is being moved to next Thursday, June 8, at the FBT Community Park in downtown Rison due to availability of local produce. The Rison Farmers Market was originally scheduled to open last Thursday, May 25, but Jaggers said the decision was made to postpone the start of the market to allow more local produce to be ready for harvest. Cooler temperatures over the spring had set back the development of some crops. There is no cost for booth space at the Rison Farmers Market. Those selling produce, plants, cottage foods or handmade items are encouraged to attend. Those who plan to have a booth are encouraged to register online by going to the Rison Farmers Market page on Facebook or going to https://tinyurl.com/38d8c68r The Rison Farmers Market is scheduled to be held at 5:30 p.m. each Thursday at FBT Community Park in the 200 block of Main Street in downtown Rison.
