RISON – A new way to stay connected to Cleveland County is here. The Cleveland County Connection, a free community email newsletter from the Herald, will officially launch this Monday, Sept. 22, to keep residents up to date with local news, events and stories that matter most to people who live and work in the county.
The newsletter will be delivered directly to subscribers’ inboxes every Monday and Friday, offering a convenient, reliable way to catch up on what’s happening in Cleveland County without scrolling through social media or waiting for the weekly paper.
“Cleveland County has always had a strong sense of community,” said Britt Talent, publisher of the Herald. “With Cleveland (continued from page 1) County Connection, our goal is to give people an easy, free way to stay informed about the things that affect their daily lives- whether that's upcoming school events, local government news, local sports, or just knowing what's going on around town." Talent said anyone can sign up to receive the free newsletter by visiting the Herald website at www.clevelandcountyherald. com or look for a link that will be posted on the Herald's Facebook page.
He said those who have signed up for the eHerald (the digital version of the Herald) will receive the Cleveland County Connection newsletter beginning this Monday. There will be an option to unsubscribe.
Those who sign up for the Cleveland County Connection newsletter can expect:
- Timely, short updates on county and community news.
- Local events calendars so families never miss what's happening nearby.
- Sports updates highlighting Cleveland County schools and athletes.
- Community spotlights on local people, businesses, and organizations.
- Convenience of having all the news delivered straight to their inbox, twice a week.
The Cleveland County Connection is designed for anyone who wants to feel more connected to their community. Because it's free, Talent said it's accessible to everyone-from longtime residents to new families moving into the county.
Signing up takes less than a minute, and subscribers can look forward to their first edition arriving this Monday.
In addition to providing local news and information, Talent said they plan to use the newsletter for things like recipes, local photos, contests and more.
