High Road Bluegrass Gospel Group in Concert at Bethel #1

Body

RISON - High Road, a Gospel bluegrass quartet, will be in concert beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church, 2230 Hwy. 35 north of Rison. The concert if free but a love offering will be available.

Sarah Davison, a native of Iowa, started the Grammy-nominated band in 2011. A gifted pianist, vocalist and piano performance graduate of Belmont University, she often lends her talents to a veritable who's who of leading country artists. She toured with iconic Country Music Hall of Famer George Jones' band on his final tour of Canada, and she performs regularly on the Grand Ole Opry with ACM Award-winner and Opry member, Mark Wills, Emily Ann Roberts, the Isaacs and others. She was also part of the Blake Shelton Tour in 2023.

Davison has also written choral pieces performed by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and cowritten High Road's #1 Gospel Charting Song, "Christ My Hope, My Glory," performed with Grammy and Dove winner Jason Crabb. She has been the pianist for Gaither Homecoming series tapings featuring Bradley Walker and actor, Dennis Quaid. In addition, she was the musical director for the Dove Awards segment last year that paid tribute to women in Gospel music. That segment included an arrangement of the old spiritual song, "Working on a Building," and featured 12 ladies of varying Christian music genres. Since the group's genesis, Davison and her bandmates have already garnered a Grammy Nomination for the album, "Gonna Sing, Gonna Shout," the Singing News New Artist of the Year, two Dove Award nominations for Bluegrass/Roots Album of the Year, and Singing News Band of the Year for 2022. They regularly perform at leading country and Gospel music events including 40 Days at the Ark Encounter, Singing In The Sun, Women of Joy, The National Quartet Convention, Dollywood and more.

Bethel #1 is located at 2230 Hwy. 35, about 1.5 miles west of the Hwy. 79 intersection at Rison. For more information, call (870) 325-7484.
