RISON - The Rison Juneteenth Festival will be returning this year on Friday and Saturday, June 16-17, after a three-year absence due to the COVID pandemic.
Festivities will begin with a banquet/meet-and-greet at 7 p.m. Friday, June 16, at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building across from the courthouse in Rison. The meal will include fish with all the trimmings, Tickets are available from any Lanwood-Risonian Club member or by calling Andrew Roshell at (870) 325-6526.
The festival itself will begin at about 1 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at Powell Park in Rison. There will be food trucks and a live blues band performing during the festival. Those interested in having a booth at the festival should call Penny Morris at (870) 325-6868.
