One Killed, Six Injured In Hwy. 63 Accident

RISON - A head-on collision along Hwy. 63 in Bradley County Friday night resulted in the death of one Cleveland County resident and left six others injured, according to the Arkansas State Police.

Leshia Sowheaver, 59, of Rison, died in the accident that took place at about 8:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, along Hwy. 63 just south of the Cleveland-Bradley County line.

According to the State Police accident report, a 2006 Toyota Sienna driven by Doyle Sowheaver, 60, of Rison, was traveling northbound along Hwy. 63 when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head on with a southbound 2022 Volkswagen Atlas driven by Rebecca Frizzell, 26, of Little Rock.

Doyle Sowheaver and three other passengers in the Toyota Justin Billings, 38; Lishia Billings, 36; and a minor, all of Rison - were injured in the accident while Leshia Sowheaver, listed as passenger, died.

In addition, State Police reported that Frizzell, the driver of the Volkswagen, as well as a minor passenger in her vehicle were injured in the accident.

State Police said all the injured were taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff following the accident.

Road conditions were wet and the weather was cloudy at the time of the accident, according to State Police.
