Pioneer Village, Rison Shine to Host Food Truck Friday

Organizers Hope First-Time Event Will Become Regular Monthly Gathering
RISON - The Pioneer Village and Rison Shine will hold the summer's first Food Truck Friday this week, Friday, June 21.Food trucks will be available from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Village, located at 200 Yaney Drive.Twisted Copper Kitchen will offer burgers, brisket, pulled pork, po'boys, loaded nachos, mac and cheese and more.Cheesecake on Point will offer a variety of flavors of cheesecake in personal size options.The Rison Famers Market will be held in conjunction with the event.Live MusicFriday's event will also feature entertainment from musical duo Brian and Laura from 5 to 7 p.m. bringing together the best of country and classic rock. Comprised of Brian Mullen and Laura Caroline, they met competing against each other in 2009 and quickly became good friends.Laura Caroline, a singer with a heart for country gospel, has been performing since the age of four. Originally from Kingsland, her heartfelt delivery brings an authentic country charm to every performance.Brian Mullen has a rock edge with his love for classic rock and country hits. After spending several years performing in Nashville, he moved back to his home state where he plays numerous venues for his loyal fanbase.Games and ActivitiesGames and other activities are expected to be set up around the Village for additional entertainment.The historic buildings within the Village will also be open for touring.The entertainment is free to attend, but donations to the Pioneer Village and Rison Shine's Food Truck Friday fund are appreciated.Free Market SpaceOrganizers of the new Food Truck Fridays, in conjunction with the Rison Farmers Market, will have free vendor space available for those wanting to sell produce, cottage foods or just about anything else during the event.In essence, organizers said the new market will essentially replace the Rison Farmers Marke...
