RISON - The ballot draw for the 2024 preferential primary election has been rescheduled to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at the courthouse in Rison, John Appleget with the Cleveland County Election Commission has announced.
Originally, Appleget announced that the ballot draw would be held this past Friday, Nov. 17, at the courthouse. However, he said last Friday that he learned the Arkansas Secretary of State’s office had not officially certified the candidates running for state and federal offices in time for a Nov. 17 ballot draw, so it had to be rescheduled.
The ballot draw is when names of candidates are drawn out of a container to determine the order the will appear on the ballot.
