RISON - Rison Shine is seeking volunteers to help with the Rison in the Fall Festival, Saturday, Oct. 7.

Anyone interested in being a volunteer is invited to attend a dinner and interest meeting that will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, 404 Sycamore Street across from the courthouse in Rison.

"While the festival (setup included) is an all-day job, we won't need volunteers for the entire day," Festival Organizer Douglas Boultinghouse said. "If you've got an hour or two of time you can volunteer, we would appreciate your help." Boultinghouse said areas of assistance will include setting up the night before, decorating, traffic control, selling t-shirts, emptying trash cans and other tasks.

"Our Rison Shine team is a small team of volunteers, and as the festival grows, we need more volunteers and would love to get more of our community involved," he said.

Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to attend the Sept. 12 meeting.

"Join us for dinner and help us make this year's fall festival another successful event," he said.

The Rison in the Fall Festival will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, and is expected to continue through about 11 p.m. All festivities will be held in 200 block of Main Street in downtown Rison.

Live entertainment will begin at about 3 p.m. at the stage that will be located at Third and Main Streets. In addition to a Cleveland County Talent Show to start the entertainment, the Chad Marshall Band, a blues group based in Pine Bluff, will perform followed by Midnight South, a country band from Cabot, and the headliner, country artist David Nail.

While food truck spaces have been filled, Boultinghouse said there is a limited number vendor spaces still available. He said those spaces are for people selling products, promoting a business, outreach, etc.
