RISON - AFMC, the Cleveland County Senior Center and the Arkansas Department of Health are partnering to provide free COVID-19 Pfizer vaccines to anyone age 5 and older on Tuesday, Aug. 16.
The vaccinations will be given from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cleveland County Senior Center, 730 Pecan Street in Rison. A parent or guardian must accompany those aged 5 to 17.
No appointments are necessary. Vaccines are provided at no cost. Bring you insurance care if you have one.
First doses will be available. Please have your COVID-19 vaccine card with you if requesting a second dose or booster dose. If you do not have your vaccine card, contact the Cleveland County Health Unit for a copy.
Qualifications for booster vaccines are as follows for Pfizer and Modema recipients: First booster must be completed the two-dose series as least five months ago and be age 5 or older.
Second booster must have received a first booster at least four months ago and b e age 50 or older.
For Janssen recipients, must have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago.
Those 18 and older receiving a first dose will have their choice of a $20 Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Scratch-Off or an Arkansas Game and Fish gift certificate. Those ages 12 to 17 will receive the Game and Fish gift certificate.
