Talent Reflects on 38-Year Legacy at Woodlawn School

WOOD LAWN - June 16 marks the end of an era at Woodlawn High School as longtime teachertumed- counselor Karen Talent retires after 38 years with the district.

With most of her office cleaned out and memories packed up, she still spent her last day working. She prepared the rollover for the next school year to make the load a little lighter for the person to fill her shoes in the counselor’s office.

Talent came to Woodlawn School District at the beginning of the 1988-89 school year to teach science. At the time, she was not married and her earliest students still call her “Ms. White.”
