The local Toys for Tots Program is currently accepting letters of interest from students that will be juniors or seniors during the 2025-26 school year that enjoy community service and who would like the opportunity to be The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Youth Ambassador representing Cleveland, Dallas, Jefferson, and Lincoln Counties.The Youth Ambassador Program is an endeavor to honor and recognize young people across the country who support the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program in an extraordinary manner. The Ambassador is a member of a select group of our Nation’s youth that serve as representatives, agents, and stewards of Toys for Tots helping to create more targeted messaging and interactions within their community. Youth Ambassadors will help to raise peer-group awareness and encourage support from our younger generation to enhance the community outreach of local campaigns. The Program spotlights “children helping children” – those that have gone above and beyond in their communities to help those less fortunate than themselves, while also engaging community members on behalf of Toys for Tots.The student selected will officially serve a 1-year term as The Toys for Tots Youth Ambassador representing Cleveland, Dallas, Jefferson, and Lincoln Counties from October 1st through September 30th. Through this appointment, the student will greatly exceed all volunteer hour requirements for graduation. Therefore, he or she must possess a strong desire for service to others and should be fairly well off academically. In addition to running a Fall Christmas Campaign to collect things like toys, backpacks, books, and games, a Spring Literacy Program Book Drive and/or Foster Care Drive at his or her school and church, the student will also partake in helping man informational booths at community events during the year and help at the collection center, currently located at the Rison United Methodist Church, with sorting and counting ...
