RISON - The Cleveland County Veterans Association has announced that it is currently collecting names of veterans for a new plaque that will be placed at Veterans Park in Rison.
While he initial effort was to segregate the names of veterans with ties to Cleveland County by the conflict/era they served in, organizers said this new plaque will include the names of veterans regardless of the time they served.
The cost to include a name on this newest plaque is $10. To submit a name, send a note with the veteran’s name, the branch of the armed services they served in, and the era (World War II, Korean War, Vietnam, etc.) peace time they served in. Be sure to include a contact telephone number should there be any questions.
The deadline for submitting a name for the new plaque is April 30.
Send the name of the person along with a check made payable to the Cleveland County Veterans Association to John Blanchard, Veterans Plaque, P.O. Box 855, Rison, AR 71665.
