WOODLAWN - Woodlawn High School will begin the 2022 Homecoming Activities on Thursday, Oct. 6 with the annual afternoon Homecoming Ceremony beginning at 2 p.m.
School will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m.
Thursday evening, the Homecoming Ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. for spectators to be admitted. The ceremonies will end with the crowning of the 2022 Football Sweetheart and the 2022 Homecoming Queen.
This year’s theme is “Just One Wish.”

The Mascots will be Adelynn Rauls and Luke Smart, both first graders at Woodlawn.
On Friday Oct. 7, at 1 p.m. the elementary classes will be dismissed to the football field where they will introduce the Pee Wee football players and homecoming maids for Saturday’s Football Jamboree. The Pee Wee cheerleaders will lead the students in a pep rally.
High School Students will be dismissed at 2 p.m. for a pep rally and immediately following, class competitions will begin.
This year’s events include traditional games such as an Obstacle Course, Egg Toss, the Tug of War and a Jello eating contest.
School will be dismissed at regular time.
Football games will begin that night at 5 p.m.
The homecoming Queen, Sweetheart and maids will be introduced between the games.
There will not be a Homecoming Dance Friday night. There will however be a Formal Dance Saturday, Oct. 8 for 10-12 grade in the cafeteria from 7-10 p.m. sponsored by FCCLA.
Tickets are $10 per person. It is a formal event, girls will wear dresses, boys will wear buttonup shirts, dress pants or jeans and a belt are acceptable.
Saturday, Woodlawn will hold a Football Jamboree and will have Pee Wee Homecoming beginning at 6:30 p.m. that evening.
