WOODLAWN - A talented young artist from Woodlawn Elementary has earned statewide recognition for her creativity and skill.Pyper Jacobson, a student at Woodlawn Elementary School, has been selected to have her artwork featured in the 65th Young Arkansas Artists Competition and Exhibition at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts.Pyper’s piece, Black Bear in Winter, was chosen for inclusion in this highly competitive exhibition, which showcases outstanding student artwork from across the state. Each year, only a limited number of entries are selected, making this a significant achievement.Woodlawn Elementary students in grades K–6 participated in a school-wide study of bears, exploring various artistic techniques and approaches. Each grade level created unique projects centered on bears as their subject matter. Artwork from every grade was submitted to the competition, and Pyper’s piece was the only selection accepted for the exhibitionAn awards and celebration event will be held on May 23, 2026, at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts.
