RISON - Former Rison Head Football Coach James "Jodus" Wright, who guided the Wildcats to the 1970 state championship, visited some of his former players at the Rison High School Class of 1971 held this past weekend outside of Rison. Wright's son, Joseph Wright, is an assistant high school football coach. Those pictured include (front row, left to right) Joseph Wright, James "Jodus" Wright, John Phillips, Danny Beckham, Linda Stover Morrison; (back row) Ray Green, Brenda Leopard Green, James Green, Charles Roberts and Randy Cash. Four of the Class of 1971 graduates played football for Wright.
