RISON - The Rison Junior Wildcats suffered a 28-0 loss to Haskell Harmony Grove in a turnover plagued game Thursday night in Rison.Rison opened the game with an attempted onside kick, but the kick by Dalton Matheson went out of bounds before any Wildcat defenders could get to it, giving the Cardinals good field position to begin the game. The Cardinals then drove the field scoring on a two-yard run by Haden Rogers with 2:53 remaining in the opening quarter. Ace Garcia ran in the two-point conversion to give the Cardinals the early 8-0 lead.Both teams failed to score on their next possessions, leading to the Wildcats having to punt the ball away on their second possession. Garcia fumbled the ball away with the Wildcats recovering with 4:33 remaining in the first half, however, the Cats' fumbled on the very next play leading to Harmony Grove getting the ball right back.The Cardinals then drove into Wildcat territory with Tucker Blaylock scoring from 10-yards out with 1:16 remaining in the first half. Garcia then ran in his second two-point conversion of the night giving the Cardinals the 16-0 lead.The Wildcats saw their second fumble of the night on the first play from scrimmage in the second half with the Cardinals recovering the football. The Wildcat defense looked to have forced a three-and-out, but the Cardinals decided to go for it on fourth down with Keaton Palmer finding a hole, leading to a 43-yard touchdown run with 5:23 remaining in the third quarter. Garcia attempted to run in a third two-point conversion, but was stopped by the Wildcat defense.Harmony Grove recovered the onside kick on the ensuing kickoff, but the Wildcat defense held, leading to a turnover on downs. Rison's next possession was their best of the night before Garcia picked off a pass on the five-yard line with 2:58 remaining in the game. Garcia scored the game's final touchdown on a 79-yard run with 1:38 remaining. The conversion attempt was no good....
