RISON - Due to persistent dry conditions, County Judge Jimmy Cummings has issued a burn ban order for Cleveland County until further notice. The ban became effective at noon last Thursday, Oct. 10. A burn ban means no outside burning of any kind is allowed.Cummings said he decided to issue ban after receiving reports that even green vegetation was burning at a rapid rate during controlled burns. That, coupled with a forecast of several days of dry weather, prompted the ban. The order states that the burn ban will remain in place until there is “sufficient rainfall and eminent threat has passed.”...
